The Port of Prescott

From forgotten building to boutique hotel

Prescott, Wisconsin has always had my heart

but The Port is where my vision came to life. Three years ago, my husband and I bought a 200-year-old, 3,000-square-foot building in the heart of downtown. It had sat vacant for years, its story nearly forgotten. We saw something more.

Together, we transformed it into The Port, a boutique hotel made up of six uniquely designed suites—each one inspired by a local river or waterway: The Croix, Vermillion, Mississippi, Kinni, Rush, and Trimbelle. Every inch of the space was thoughtfully designed—new hand-scraped wood ceilings were added to echo the building’s past, while original brick and stucco walls were preserved to honor its rich, 200-year history. Custom design details throughout strike a balance between restoration and reinvention.

The result is a deliberate balance of old and new—modern self check-in with no front desk, paired with timeless craftsmanship and small-town charm. The Port is more than a hotel. It’s a love letter to Prescott and proof that forgotten spaces can have a second life.
